I have never presented a session at a conference before. Is this for me?

Absolutely, Eagle Summit thrives on the contributions of individuals like you! We encourage both experienced and first-time presenters to submit proposals. Your unique perspectives and experiences are highly valued. If you need assistance, the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) is here to support you with resources and guidance to help you prepare and deliver a successful presentation.

Why should I submit a proposal?

It’s an opportunity to share your expertise and innovative ideas with colleagues, enhancing their skills and knowledge. Presenting can also boost your professional development, build your confidence, and expand your network within the OTC community. Additionally, you’ll contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement, making a positive impact on the lives of faculty and staff. Your participation is key to the success of Eagle Summit and to fostering a thriving academic environment.

How do I submit a proposal?
I am not an OTC employee. May I submit a proposal?

Yes, we welcome proposals from community members who have relevant content to share with our OTC faculty and staff. Please note that solicitation is not allowed.

May I submit more than one proposal?

Absolutely!

What types of presentations are you looking for?

We welcome proposals on any topic that enhance the performance, skills, knowledge, or overall well-being of Ozark Tech faculty and staff.

Some examples may include:

  • Ideas for supporting first-generation students
  • An overview of student success model
  • New tools for teaching
  • Financial aid information
  • Resources for mental health and mindfulness
  • Workplace safety
What are the criteria that will be used to consider proposals?
  • Interest– Interesting and relevant topics that are geared to specific audiences in the college.
  • Content Quality– Informative and insightful content  that contributes to the work of the college.
  • Practicality – Practical applications that can be easily implemented by attendees.
  • Engagement and Delivery– Interactive delivery methods that will actively involve the audience.

Connection to Core Values – Alignment with the Core Values of Ozarks Tech (student-centered, inclusive, data-informed, innovative, community-focused, and ethical).

Can you explain the different presentation formats?
  • Presentation: A structured sharing of information and ideas, typically with a dedicated time for questions at the end.
  • Conversation: An interactive discussion that encourages the exchange of ideas among participants.
  • Panel Discussion: A session featuring 3 or 4 panelists who share their perspective and experiences, followed by a Q & A segment.
  • Workshop: A participatory session focused on the practical application of skills, where attendees actively engage in hands-on activities.
