Ph.D. North Central University
Dr. Childress serves as President for OTC Education Centers. He is the Education Center Director at the OTC Lebanon Center and also supervises administration at the OTC Waynesville Center, Fort Leonard Wood and OTC Republic Center. He is also responsible for conducting regional outreach and developing opportunities for college expansion.
Dr. Childress has served the college in a variety of positions for over 12 years. Initially hired as a full-time biology instructor, he has also served as Dean of Lebanon Education Center and Executive Dean of OTC Education Centers.
In addition to his administrative work, Dr. Childress teaches as an adjunct instructor for the OTC Life Sciences Department. He has also taught as an adjunct instructor for National American University and Northern Arizona University. Before coming to OTC, he was a minor league baseball player with the New York Mets organization.
He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Leadership from Northcentral University. He also earned a Master of Science in Biology from University of Nebraska-Kearney and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southwest Baptist University.
Dr. Childress has a long history of serving the Lebanon community. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Lebanon and served on the Rotary Board, for which he was honored as the 2016 Rotarian of the Year. He has also served on the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce Board, including a term as Chamber Board President in 2017. He has served on the Board for the Lebanon Area Foundation and the Lebanon Parks and Recreation Board. He is also a member of Leadership OTC and the Chancellor’s Leadership Academy.
